Mareike also sent a picture of the new Integrity Worldwide sign that is on the road to Meto.  This sign is at the beginning of the dusty road to Meto.

They are about to have a team meeting and then go to the Nairobi airport. Everyone is great and ready to start the journey back home. Mom said everyone had a great trip. Part of the trip is ~25 miles of dirt road. One time, during a drought, the road had constant bumps in it like a washboard. Going slow over it would almost knock your teeth out, not to mention it would take forever to get there. Our driver decided it was better to do it going about 40-50 mph. It was like riding on a jackhammer. We even came off the ground a few times on the big bumps. It was a really fun trip.

Update: The team is at their hotel in Nairobi. They had a long drive but everyone is great.

The mission center is a huge deal for the team.  The team can get together at the mission center and spend time with God or debrief about the day.  I think it’s really helping them be more effective.

Alan mentioned the animals drinking at the well.  He said there are about a thousand animals in a long line to drink water every morning.  The shepherds are bringing their livestock to drink everyday.  They start drinking at 5:30 and it takes until around 3:30 before the line is gone.  Small herds trickle in through the evening.  James is the man from Meto who manages the whole process.  This guy is good too.

Ryan preached at church on Sunday.  How about that?  Pretty awesome right?  Alan said it was great!

Jens, the doctor from Germany, did surgery on a persons hand. That is amazing.  I hope there are pictures…or maybe I don’t.

They’ve seen about 500 people in the medical clinics.  The people from Meto have prepared a celebration for the last medical clinic tomorrow.  A celebration normally consists of INCREDIBLE choirs from the area (by “the area” I mean they walk out of the woods and boom….there’s another choir) They are really good at celebrating.

The team is eating with Moses and his family tonight. Some possible menu items….rice, chapati (flat bread), potatoes, spinach, goat….

I’ve got someone I want to introduce to you tomorrow.  His name is Isaiah. I think you’ll like him.
